Konrad and Ishwar featured in the New Yorker

Profs. Janusz Konrad and Prakash Ishwar have been recently featured in The New Yorker. The article “Beyond fingerprints: High-five to unlock” has discussed recent challenges in user authentication in view of hacking the ┬áiPhone 5S’s Touch ID system. Two promising approaches for user authentication of the future have been mentioned: finger swipes for unlocking a tablet or smartphone under study by a group at NYU-Poly, and body gestures for opening doors, gates, etc. being studied by Konrad and Ishwar. You can read more about this project at the project page “BodyLogin”.
