Konrad and Ishwar featured in the New Yorker
Profs. Janusz Konrad and Prakash Ishwar have been recently featured in The New Yorker. The article “Beyond fingerprints: High-five to unlock” has discussed recent challenges in user authentication in view of hacking the iPhone 5S’s Touch ID system. Two promising approaches for user authentication of the future have been mentioned: finger swipes for unlocking a tablet or smartphone under study by a group at NYU-Poly, and body gestures for opening doors, gates, etc. being studied by Konrad and Ishwar. You can read more about this project at the project page “BodyLogin”.
